Today we raise a toast to the 8th Annual Women in Wine Leadership Symposium, which we hosted this Fall. The all-day conference educates and inspires by bringing together women from all corners of the wine industry. By welcoming guests of many generations, backgrounds, and niches, the event creates a community for celebrating accomplishments and empowering women to take the next step in their careers. From winemakers and sommeliers to writers and retailers, WWLS has something to offer every woman in the field.
The event fully utilizes both the Event Space and Theater to provide the maximum amount of programming to their guests. The day is made up of four key components: Keynote Conversation, Guided Tasting, Panel Discussion, and Walk-Around Tasting.
The day begins with a networking breakfast in the Event Space before guests are invited downstairs to the Theater for the keynote conversation, which officially kicks off the event. The lively welcome gets everyone in the right mindset for what’s ahead.
Back upstairs, a strikingly crisp classroom setup in the Event Space accommodates over one hundred women as they are led through a guided tasting of four different wines. Each winemaker leads a discussion on their varietal and opens the floor up to the audience for questions.
A diverse group of industry leaders take a deep dive into a vast array of topics in an intimate panel discussion. The packed house is encouraged to engage in the conversation.
To round out the day, guests return to the Event Space for lunch and a walk-around tasting, which features thirteen different winemakers. The tradeshow style floor plan allows guests to connect both with winemakers and peers in a more casual setting.
It has been an honor for us to watch this conference grow and develop here at HELEN MILLS over the years. We are always inspired and proud to see the huge strides women are making in wine leadership!
